## Column Width and Leading

**Column Width** is the width of a block of text. Optimum column width can increase readability of text. It can be measured in inches, points, pixels etc.

**Leading** refers to vertical space between lines of text. It is measured from the baseline of text and expressed in points. It, generally, works to make the leading 20 percent greater than the font size.
